Lori has been a part of Cedardale for many years holding many aquatic related positions including Swim Instructor, Lifeguard, Swim Coach, Synchronized Swimming Coach and Summer Swim Lesson Coordinator. She assumed the position of Aquatic Direcotr in May of 2021. Lori’s passion and love for aquatics started as a member of the Cedardale swim team back in 1986 as a junior. Her experience as a youth has led her into a lifelong involvement in swimming and teaching that has included swimming for Bates College during her college years and coaching Olympic Trial qualifiers and members of the USA National Junior Team.
Lori’s experience has led her to understand the importance of balancing water safety with introducing proper swimming technique to all members of Cedardale’s swim programming. She strives to create an Aquatic Program and team at Cedardale that opens the door for our young members to be confident in the water, have the possibility of becoming lifeguards or swimmers on their high school or local club team as well as having the adult members realize the health benefits of water exercise and that swimming can be a lifelong passion.
Lori also currently owns and is the Head Coach of Phoenix Swimming. Phoenix Swimming was ranked by USA Swimming in the summer of 2023 as the top team in the country under 100 athletes (roughly out of 4000 teams). Her reputation in USA Swimming has led to multiple invitations to coach and manage Regional, Diversity, and National swim camps at the USA Swimming Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. She is an American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 5 coach, certified in Water Safety Instruction, has her Certified Pool Operator certifications, and certified in Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
